The basic idea behind this presentation relates to the topic of “actuary 2020” which we believe is someone who is equally strong in calculating and communicating. Communicating your arguments, findings and results to non-actuaries (may it be the board, marketing, human resources, compliance, clients, etc.) seems to be more of an art than an exact science. Many actuaries surely relate to that through the various (good and bad!) experiences they have had. Still, there are easy and practical hints that can significantly increase the success of your communication. In this session, Eberhard Müller and Caroline Grégoire will role-play typical situations that an actuary or risk manager can face, and they will teach essential do’s and don’ts for one’s actuarial and risk communication.
