Not only the actuary of the future, he even more, but also the actuary of today, does a lot of programming and Software Development. Thus a new kind of actuary, with a different role has to evolve: the DevAct! As the DevOp - known from modern and agile software egineering, the DevAct, is a developing actuary.
Only with knowledge and skills from both worlds, from software engineering and the actuarian profession, the actuary of the future will be able to keep an overview with the increasingly complex methods & models. Only by adapting established practices from software development the future actuary can ensure the present quality level. And only by transfering the DevOps processes into the daily work of actuaries, our profession will be able to keep pace with the ongoing change.
