The purpose of this engaging discussion forum is to help develop a framework / toolkit for the International Actuarial Association (and hence its various Sections including IACA, AFIR/ERM, ASTIN, AWB, IAAHS and IAALS) to work towards, with the purpose of attracting, developing and engaging Young Actuaries, and to therefore ensure longevity of the actuarial profession.
Given the ever-changing landscape this world operates under, with significant political and economic uncertainty, the profession needs to ensure it remains relevant to all stakeholders in the international community. This not only includes serving and adding value to governments and corporations, but also contributing to, and serving, the wider public interest.
Now, more than ever, is the right time to ensure we develop a framework to engage, develop, and bring together Young Actuaries, to equip them with the skills, support, and networks they need to help address and manage the key risks of today.
In doing so, we can expect the actuarial profession to continue to flourish, as well as provide Young Actuaries with the personal and professional opportunities that have been enjoyed by those who have developed the profession to where it is today.
We look forward to holding a workshop to further discuss this theme, and to share some of the work IACA has done in this area to date, at the ICA Conference in Berlin.
