How have the tasks, skills and tools of the actuary have evolved over time?
• The classical actuary – sovereign of commutation values
• the traditional actuary – expert of deterministic projections
• the modern actuary – master of stochastic models
• the future actuary – conductor of the robo assembly?
Modern developments have a profound impact on actuarial work. Innovative methods from data analytics, agile working, process automation, improved software tools shape the evolving workspace of actuaries and lead to higher demands on actuarial skills.
