Financial planning and budgeting are fundamental aspects of insurers’ operations. However, the inherent uncertainty presents an array of challenges to insurers trying to predict their market share and financial position in the short-, medium-, and long-term future.
These challenges include: Developing the appropriate inputs for projections spanning years into the future, Performing reasonable projections of financial measures, Forecasting levels of new business to add to the existing portfolio of contracts, and Testing how movements in portfolio risk factors will affect financial position. This session will discuss these challenges and offer different ways how to master them as insurers navigate in an uncertain world.
