Session 4 of the event by the Gulf Actuarial Society and the Financial Academy.
This talk highlights some of the threats to the institutions that actuaries advise and therefore the challenges to actuarial work in 2020 and going forward. This includes examples from life and non-life insurance, as well as pensions and investment advising, but also relevant examples of actuarial work on pandemics. The speakers material includes material generated by the 80 workstreams that the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries has generated in response to the pandemic with coverage by 500 volunteers from 49 countries.
