Drawing on his experience, work on the IFoA’s VSMD (visions, skillsets, mindsets, and domains) strategy and recent tumultuous events like the CoVID-19 pandemic crisis, the IFoA ‘s President Tan Suee Chieh, will speak to a reimagination of the actuarial profession in the 21st century in two respects 

• Responding to the challenges and opportunities brought forth by the digital and fourth industrial revolution 
• Being bolder and more imaginative in speaking up on the sustainability changes of our time – these challenges include the covid-19 pandemic, climate risk, dysfunctionality of our investment, regulatory, health, economic and income security systems. 

This can only be possible if we are able to modernise and widen our skillsets rapidly and adopt a multi-disciplinary in our approach to problem solving. 
And embrace a much greater diversity of mindsets amongst our membership as opposed to one which is anchored to our quintessential values of accuracy, cautiousness, consistency and reticence.
