Description:

Actuaries find themselves more and more often playing roles that fall on the edge of or outside of our traditional ambit. Hence the actuary's role as thought leader becomes more critical. Nowhere is this more important than in the realm of public policy, where actuaries need to navigate many issues vital to our communities in order to achieve successful outcomes from our work. Actuarial professional bodies around the world are increasingly wrestling with how to best make their voice heard on these issues. This panel discussion will examine the thought leadership role that actuaries can play in informing public policy and explore how best to make our influence felt, change perceptions and give insight to decision makers.
