It is evident that the climate has been warming over the past years, causing among others the melting of glaciers and sea ice. Modelling of the future climate change is however challenging because of the long time scale of climate projections. In addition, it requires accurate parametrization of complex nonlinear physical processes. Therefore, more work is required to improve the performance of climate models to accurately represent future climate change.
