Description:

An original initiative of the Institute of Actuaries, the Actuarial Observatory of the Coronavirus is a sociological study carried out among actuaries, during the whole duration of the containment and in the two following weeks.

Weekly collective interviews and self-administered questionnaires have made it possible to collect in real time the perceptions, analyses and convictions of professionals from all actuarial professions and sectors. A novel approach, both in form and content, providing a unique perspective on the crisis.

In July 2020, the Institute of Actuaries presented the first report of this Observatory, its operational part.

In November, it unveils the second part, a sociological reflection on the profession of actuary in the face of the Covid-19 crisis.

Pauline Vessely, doctor in sociology, who carried out this study, will present in particular the aspects relating to the question of ethics - technical, individual, sectoral - in an exchange with David Dubois.
