Pension fund trustees are increasingly aware of decision-making biases, which is critical to robust pension fund risk management. However, decision-makers also need to establish robust voting procedures to ensure group decisions reflect the underlying individual preferences. I present three case studies where pension fund decisions can go wrong due to inadequate voting methods, examine the underlying causes, and outline best practices for arriving at group decisions.

Thank you, Matthew. Your presentation has applications and use beyond rhe group decision-making of pension fund trustees. It feels to me that resolution of "no clear winner" examples can be a challenge for all of us.
